Meta Names Dhruv Vohra Managing Director for Southeast Asia

Meta has appointed Dhruv Vohra as managing director of its global business group for Southeast Asia, effective September 30, 2026. He will be based in Singapore and report to Benjamin Joe, Meta's vice president for Asia Pacific.

The move was reported on October 1.

Vohra's Remit and Reporting Line

Vohra will oversee commercial strategy across six markets: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. That means he will lead the teams that work with advertisers and agencies in the region.

Joe said in a statement that "Southeast Asia is one of Meta's fastest-growing business regions, and the work ahead is helping businesses use AI and messaging at the pace their customers already expect." He described Vohra as "the right person for this next phase."

Vohra called the region "one of the most dynamic and creative regions in the world." He pointed to business messaging and live shopping, which found early adopters there. He also said no two markets behave the same way.

Meta has not reported Southeast Asia revenue separately, so the "fastest-growing" description cannot be measured from its results.

Regional Businesses Turn to Social, Messaging and AI

The appointment comes as businesses in Southeast Asia increasingly use social platforms, messaging and AI to reach consumers and drive commerce.

Meta's Asia-Pacific revenue grew 19% year on year in the second quarter of 2026. That figure covers the whole Asia-Pacific region, not Southeast Asia alone.

Meta's careers blog says small and mid-sized businesses drive more than half of its revenue in every country in the region. Vohra's most recent job was running Meta's SMB Group for Asia Pacific.

Vohra has also pointed to businesses' growing use of AI tools, including Meta Business Agent, to handle customer interactions.

From Google to Meta's Commercial Teams

Vohra has more than seven years at Meta. He joined in 2019 as director and head of sales for eCommerce and digital natives. In 2021, he became managing director of the mid-market segment for Southeast Asia.

In 2023, he took on his most recent role as managing director of Meta's SMB Group for Asia Pacific. The new job returns him to a Southeast Asia focus.

Before Meta, he spent more than eight years at Google. He held roles across India, Singapore and Southeast Asia, including industry lead for apps, commerce and entertainment across Asia Pacific.

Leadership Changes in the Region

The appointment coincides with other leadership changes at Meta. In August, Sandhya Devanathan announced she would leave the company after more than a decade. She had been vice president for India and Southeast Asia since June 2025.

Devanathan joined Meta in Singapore in 2016 after more than 15 years in financial services at Citi and Standard Chartered. One trade report linked her departure to a move to OpenAI, but that has not been confirmed.

Joe, Vohra's manager, was promoted to regional vice president for Asia Pacific in May 2025.

Vohra said working with teams and partners to help more businesses innovate is "a real privilege."
